Updates

Cadence keeps itself current. It checks for new releases on its own, and when one is ready it tells you and offers to install it, so staying on the latest signed build is a single click.

How updates arrive

• Cadence checks for updates automatically when it starts and quietly in the background while it runs.
• When a new version is ready, a small prompt appears offering to update. Choose Update and restart and Cadence installs it and reopens in a few seconds. You can dismiss the prompt and keep working; it will offer again later.
• Only releases signed by us are accepted, so an update is as trustworthy as your original install on both macOS and Windows.

Checking for an update yourself

You rarely need to, but if you want to be sure you are current, open Settings, then the Updates tab, and use the check-for-updates option there. If you would rather start clean, you can always grab the newest build from the downloads page and reinstall over the top: your account and settings are tied to your sign-in, not the install.
