Apple iCloud calendar

Show your Apple iCloud meetings as read-only context by making the calendar public and pasting its link into the desktop app.

Cadence can show your Apple iCloud calendar as read-only context alongside your tracked time. You connect it by making the calendar public in iCloud and pasting its link into Cadence.

Step 1: get your link from iCloud

Do this part on a computer, in a web browser, signed in to iCloud.

  1. Open iCloud Calendar on the web
    Go to icloud.com and open Calendar. Sign in with your Apple ID if asked.
  2. Share your calendar
    In the list of calendars on the left, move your mouse over the calendar you want and click the small broadcast icon next to it (Share Calendar).
  3. Make it public
    Tick Public Calendar. A link appears underneath.
  4. Copy the link and fix the start
    Copy the link. It begins with webcal://. Change those first letters to https:// so it starts with https:// instead. That is the address you will paste into Cadence.

Step 2: paste the link into Cadence

  1. Open Settings in the app
    In the Cadence desktop app, click Settings at the bottom of the left sidebar, then open the Integrations tab.
  2. Paste your link in the Calendar box
    In the Calendar card, paste the https://link into the box that says “Paste a private iCal (ICS) URL from your calendar”.
  3. Click Connect
    Click Connect. Your iCloud meetings appear on your timeline as read-only context.
Public means anyone with the link can read it
iCloud only offers a public sharing link, so anyone who has the exact link could read that calendar's events. Use it for a work calendar rather than a private personal one. You can turn off Public Calendar in iCloud at any time, which also stops the Cadence connection.

If events do not appear, confirm you changed webcal:// to https:// in the link. See syncing problems if it continues.
